Solidarity with striking UFCW Best Western workers

SGEU members Muna De Ciman, Jas McConnell, and Judy Kobsar recently joined a picket line outside Regina's Best Western Seven Oaks, to show solidarity with striking United Food and Commercial Workers Canada members.

The hotel employees began strike action on December 28. They've rejected management’s final offer, which featured extremely low wage increases, coupled with increases to benefit costs so steep that many employees would actually see their earnings reduced. Hotel management is also refusing to make any wage increases retroactive to when the contract expired in October.

We encourage everyone to show their support for the striking UFCW workers as they fight for a fair contract.
