Saskatchewan Government and General Employees’ Union (SGEU) members have ratified a new three-year collective agreement with the Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation (SCIC). The agreement, which is effective from October 1, 2022, to September 30, 2025, includes an 8% wage increase over three years. The agreement includes:

  • General wage increases of 3% (2023), 3% (2024) and 2% (2025)

In addition to the wage increases, the agreement introduces several other key improvements:

  • Standby Compensation: Increased from $10 to $15 per 4 hours, a 50% increase.
  • Per Diem Allowances: In-province rates increased from $51 to $70, and out-of-province rates from $61 to $80.
  • Meal Allowances: Increased to better support employees during travel and work-related duties.

The agreement also provides enhanced support for employees in need of leave, including access to bereavement leave and sick leave credits for wellness purposes.

SCIC is a provincial Treasury Board Crown Corporation under the Ministry of Agriculture. SGEU represents over 450 members with the SCIC, including Marketing & Communications Specialists, Compliance Auditors, Administrative Clerks, Accounting Clerks, Systems Analysts, Quality Assurance Analysts in Information Technology, Research Economists, and more.
