Members of SGEU, CUPE and UNIFOR joined SEIU-West at an Own It! rally Dec. 15 to let Labour Minister Don Morgan, Premier Brad Wall and their guests know that Saskatchewan people do not support the government’s privatization agenda.
SEIU-West held an Own It! rally at the entrance of Prairieland Park in Saskatoon, where Minister Morgan was hosting a Christmas reception.
The event kicked off with encouraging words from SEIU-West Vice-President Neil Colmin, Executive Director of Upstream Ryan Meili and Co-Chair of the SEIU-West Political Action and Education Committee Dennel Pickering.
As the Minister’s guests drove into the park, activists greeted them with Own It! message boards and by waving union flags. After the reception, guests returned to their vehicles to find pamphlets outlining the costs of privatization under their wiper blades.
Thanks to SEIU-West for providing coffee and hot chocolate. A great time was had by all who attended. To view photos from the event, click here.
