Bursary Program
2015/2016 Academic Year
SGEU La Ronge/Missinipe Local 1121 is offering five (5) $500 Bursaries for the 2015/2016 academic year for students enrolled in full-time studies. We are also offering three (3) $250 Bursaries for a student enrolled in part-time studies.
In the event that there are no applicants or they do not qualify, the bursary(s) will be carried over to the next fiscal year. A full-time student is defined as taking a minimum of 3 classes during each semester. (The amounts of these bursaries will be re-visited annually based upon the balance of funds in the Local).
To qualify applicants must be an SGEU Local 1121 member in good standing or a spouse or dependent of a member in good standing who has been in our Local for a minimum of 12 months prior to the time of application, and must have also paid dues to Local 1121 for a minimum of 12 months prior to the time of application. First time, qualifies applicants will be considered before previously awarded recipients.
Fully funded applicants are not eligible for the bursary. Partially funded students will be considered.
Applicants must submit the following information:
- Current resume
- School transcript(s) (photo-copy of transcript is acceptable)
- Two (2) letters of reference
- Copy of acceptance letter from recognized post-secondary institution
- One (1) 500 word essay:

Application deadline has been extended to November 16, 2015. Applications must be MAILED in. Late enteries will not be accepted.
Selections will be made by the committee in December 2015, and the selected recipients will be notified verbally and in writing.
