How do I apply for Protection Plus Benefits?
New SGEU members
Enrol within 31 days of your start date to secure up to $100,000 in Life Insurance and $40,000 in Critical Illness Insurance – with no medical questions!
Existing SGEU members
You can enrol in Protection Plus Benefits at any time! Your application can still be completed online and will require you to complete medical questions to apply. If more details are required based on your answers, Blue Cross LifeTM will reach out to you for more information.
If you’ve experienced a qualifying life event, you can apply with no medical questions required within 31 days of the event. A life event is a situation resulting from one of the following:
- Marriage or common law union;
- Birth or adoption of a child;
- Divorce or legal separation; or
- Death of a dependent
